Teacher Quits Her Job To Enter Miss Universe Beauty Pageant

In the time when it seems that teachers are getting fired left and right for inappropriate behavior with their students, it’s refreshing to see a teacher leave their job for a good cause instead of being forced to resign after being led out of the school in handcuffs. Maria Wilkes is a language teacher at Channing School, one of London’s top schools for girls. She has left her profession to pursue a chance at becoming a Miss Universe contestant. Maria traded in blackboards for bikinis and now she is so close to competing in the Miss Universe contest. The 26-year-old beauty, whose mother is from Venezuela and dad from England, used to teach Spanish. Now she will compete against 38 hopefuls in a quest to be crowned Miss Universe Great Britain. Class is now in session.

I’m just over one week into my two-a-day workouts with @temple_8 and I’ve never felt healthier! 5:30am starts are tough but totally worth it when you start to see results. So far I’ve been doing 30mins of cardio each morning followed by 1 hour of weight training in the evenings. My weight is still the same BUT the composition of my body has significantly changed! According to @boditrax I’ve lost 1.4kg of body fat and gained 1kg of muscle in only one week! With a great trainer and the right mindset anything is possible! #london #potd #picoftheday #blogger #fitness #fitfam #model #brunette #mugbstyle #instastyle #manieredevoir #fit #lifestyle #abs #training #lblogger #happy #pranaon #temple8 #missuniversegbfinalist
