This week Sports Illustrated began announcing some of their new models who will be among the “rookies” in 2016 edition of their annual Swimsuit Issue. A couple of these ladies we have seen before while another one is a definite new face, at least to me. First up we’ve got Barbara Palvin , 22, who used to work for Victoria’s Secret back when she was still in her teens. At one point in the past I called her the future of lingerie modeling, but for some reason she kind of vanished off the map for awhile. So good to see she’s back in our lives and in the 2016 Swimsuit Issue. Second, we have Ashley Graham , the first “plus-size” model to appear in the Swimsuit Issue. That happened last year , but it was only in an ad. This year she’s a full-blown model in the magazine. The third model announced so far is named Bojana Krsmanovic, or Bo for short, and she’s the one I have never heard of before. She is a model from Serbia and is a DEFINITE contender for “Rookie of the Year.” For some reason Sports Illustrated isn’t officially calling 56-year-old model Nicola Griffin , who is set to appear in the 2016 edition of the Swimsuit Issue, a “rookie” based on the captions on the Instagram pics below. So for now what you see below are the three ladies thus far that will be eligible for “ Rookie of the Year .” Here’s a little taste of what each model brings to the table… Barbara Palvin
It’s going to be very interesting to see who comes home with the title of “Rookie of the Year” since these are only the first three women announced and I can’t even decide between them.
